Indian
equities
trade higher in the post noon trade on Tuesday led by bank, auto and
power stocks gain. At the
end of the day,
the Sensex was trading up 128.23
points or 0.45%
at 28,355.62
with 18 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher
by 39.20
points or 0.46%
at 8,565.55
with 33 components gaining.
Biggest
gainers in the 30-share index were Tata
Motors (4.01%),
I C I C I Bank (3.34%),
G A I L (India) (2.26%),
Mahindra & Mahindra (2.53%),
Sesa Sterlite (2.64%),
and Tata
Steel (2.80%).
On
the other hand, Tata
Consultancy Services (2.87%),
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (2.33%),
Reliance
Industries (1.63%),
Housing Development Finance Corporation (2.05%),
Hindustan Unilever (1.17%),
and NTPC (0.15%)
were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
The
BSE Smallcap index was at 10899.01 down by 12.53 points or by 0.11%.
The
Consumer Durables index was at 10,360.45, up by 149.43 points or by
1.46%.The Bankex index was at 21,464.07, up by 128.23points or by
0.45%. The Auto index was at 18,945.47, up by 325.04 points or by
1.75%.
